Can changing transmission fluid stop transmission slipping?
Not reliably. If the transmission is low because of a leak, correcting the fluid level with the exact specified fluid may change how it operates—but the leak still needs repair. Slipping caused by worn internal clutches, pressure loss, solenoid faults or mechanical damage requires diagnosis.
A transmission-fluid change is maintenance. When a transmission is already slipping, diagnose the cause before assuming that a drain-and-fill, fluid exchange or additive will solve the problem.
